Kelcie Dunne - Avid Rider
I started riding when I was 10 – my parents let me take some lessons at summer camp, and I was instantly hooked! I’ve been lucky enough throughout my riding career to have owned my own horse, and leased some very talented horses as well. While in college I was a member of my school’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) team. I’ve developed my preferred riding attire over the years and here is what you will find me wearing when I ride.
I’m a big fan of the Tailored Sportsman brand. I own quite a few pairs of the Tailored Sportman Trophy Hunters in a variety of colors. I find that these breeches fit my body type well; they stretch nicely and retain their shape no matter how many horses I ride. I also can’t ride without a belt, so I always pair my breeches with one of my Tailored Sportsman belts!
For a helmet, I wear a GPA Speed Air. The one thing I really like about this helmet is how light it is. This past summer I started showing in some local jumper shows, but I was also still doing the hunters and some equitation – I needed a helmet that would be acceptable in all three rings.
I have a hard time finding gloves that fit, and when I do find a good pair I am usually pretty tough on them. I recently purchased the Samshield V-skin gloves and they are amazing!
As I began riding more, I needed chaps that could stand up to the demand of riding. I will usually ride in my Tredstep Deluxe Half Chaps. These are really soft leather chaps that look very polished too.
Under my half chaps and paddock boots I’ll usually wear one of my many pairs of Sox Trot Socks. These socks come in some very fun patterns which adds a little “jazz” to my riding outfit.
